Dr. Juei Kao, DMD
The Bay Area’s Trusted Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Juei Kao is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a former clinical associate professor at the UCSF School of Dentistry.
Originally from Taiwan and raised in Southern California, Dr. Kao graduated cum laude in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. He went on to obtain his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his pediatric specialty training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He has published peer-reviewed research in Pediatric Dentistry and has presented at AAPD meetings.
With over 25 years of hands-on patient care experience, Dr. Kao is known for his soft-spoken, compassionate approach to support pediatric patients through their dental visit. He strives to provide families with the most current techniques and personalized strategies to help children develop exceptional dental habits that last a lifetime.
Beyond his private practice, Dr. Kao dedicates his time to serving children in underserved communities, including dental screenings for elementary school children who have limited access to care.

"Dr. Kao took amazing care of my daughter and our family while she underwent sedation. The procedure went well and he was kind enough to reassure us every step of the way. He made sure to personally check on how our daughter was doing after the procedure and thankfully she did not need or ask for pain meds. She had little to no bleeding, no fever, and we followed the antibiotic regimen closely after Dr. Kao explained at length the post op care.
